Want to take up archery?

To become a member of an archery club, and to take up the sport properly, you need to complete an approved Archery GB beginner’s course. This will ensure that you are capable of shooting safely and help you to understand and apply basic archery techniques.

Romsey Archers has members trained as qualified archery coaches and runs beginner’s courses from time to time. Normally, we can accept as members those who complete the course successfully but this does depend on whether or not we have vacancies.

No previous experience is required but archers must be 8 years old or over for an outdoor course and 12 years old or over for an indoor course. Annual fees only become due when you complete the course successfully and become a member of the club. The course will last several weeks and may take place at either our indoor or outdoor facilities.

The cost of a Beginners Course is currently £45.00 plus a small booking fee but we can supply all the equipment you need. You can find out more about our other fees by clicking here.

Archery is a simple sport to learn but it will take many years to master. And whilst the courses are exacting and need your full attention, they are also great fun.
